AE Feedback

People were getting a bit upset at lack of feedback on lessons, and I think that it is part of the way that UEW is. THere is no "wrong" really, and it is very difficult to assign a value judgement to something as nebulous as a lesson. However, this is what I wrote about it to the list:

I understand what you guys are saying. And in a lot of ways, I agree. I've personally been horribly busy lately, and apologize for not giving as much feedback as I could to people's lessons. Let me offer a few thoughts, if I may.

First, it is very difficult in the type of Wicca we are practicing to make value judgements, such as "you get it" or "you don't get it." We all "get it" in our different ways. It becomes really unclear when things are not like my daughter's math homework - i.e. you got #7 wrong because you forgot to carry the 2

Secondly, a lot of the time, we are all reading lessons, nodding to ourselves, and saying "gee, that was cool" and then not posting. Yes, that is bad. But please don't think that people aren't reading your stuff. They are. If you say something controversial, people WILL say something :-). When I listed things I thought were morally wrong, I listed one that really got some attention from some people :-). Trust me.

Third, from what I've heard about 2C lessons, etc., our 2C members are REALLY insanely busy with trying to just complete the lessons. Maybe as part of 2C lessons, we could integrate constructive feedback of some sort on 1C lessons? Like maybe write something about them, or build off of them, or something like that? I know I'm not making much sense, but I don't have a coherent idea as yet as to how that would work, but I DO think that if 2C is more of a teaching type thing, where best to start than with our own clan's 1C lessons? (By the way, I'm not 2C yet....still waiting. 7 1/2 weeks and counting, but hey, I'm not checking my mailbox every 5 minutes.....NOT... hee hee)

So please, hang in there. Please complain whenever you want so we can talk and hash things out and come up with ideas that will make things better for you (and everyone else). I think this is really healthy. I also think that this is a really great group filled with wonderful, caring, sympathetic people. Go clan :-)
